This charming port founded in 1659 is regarded as one of the most beautiful natural harbours of the Mediterranean. Located on the south western tip of the island and nestling at the base of the Tramuntana mountains just 25 minute’s drive from Palma. With easy access to the islands excellent road network Port Andratx is the ideal base from which to explore the whole island.
From it humble beginnings Port Andratx has evolved into one of the islands most exclusive resorts. Whilst the port still boasts an active fishing fleet super yachts now jostle for position beside old fishing boats in the harbour and the smart waterfront comprising chic boutiques and sophisticated restaurants and bars attracts the rich and famous. Also a favourite haunt of the Spanish Royal family there is no better place to relax with a glass of wine and watch the world go by.
For more active, as well as the water based activities the port has to offer there are three sandy beaches within easy reach. The area is also a haven for those who enjoy walking and cycling, as there are numerous recognised trails in the surrounding countryside, many starting from Port Andratx itself. For the golf enthusiast the south west of the Mallorca boasts no less than 6 championship standard golf courses including the impressive Golf de Andratx course.
